At what point in your life did your faith come alive? How did this happen?
I would say at the end of high school when I read some Thomas Merton. I was being confirmed and had a great sponsor. My Mom and Grandparents were devout Catholics as well. Everything clicked. Christ was the way.
When did you first consider becoming a priest? What made you consider it?
When I decided to live for Christ, I wanted to live my life for Jesus alone. When the priest started saying to the people that the Church needed priests, it was like he was speaking directly to me. This first started Junior or Senior year of high school
Name one person who influences your decision to go seminary. How did this person encourage you?
The two people that helped me make the difficult decision to go into seminary were Father Pawel Zborowski and Father Rocco Porter. Priests are very supportive when one is full of self doubt and fear.
What do your family and friends think about you studying to be a priest?
I am extremely blessed to have a family that is fully supportive of my vocation. My friends from high school were pretty shocked considering I was not that “guy.” Nevertheless I have not really encountered any negativity from those close to me.
Describe your relationship with the Blessed Mother.
My relationship with Mary is essential to my growth and well being at Seminary. She always brings me to her Son in a gentle and peaceful way. The school of Nazareth is where Jesus spent thirty years of His earthly life before beginning His minister y. I seek to do the same under the protection of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
