INSIGHT
A program of education and discernment for men considering a vocation to the Priesthood.
Purpose of INSIGHT
- Prayer - Introducing the rich traditions of Catholic prayer in its different forms; encouraging us to walk with the Father in discernment; the evening's theme, prayerfully brought to God the Father, is another way God can reveal His will for one's life; evening concludes with the Liturgy of the Hours Night Prayer prayed in common.
- Educational - Presenting the priestly and sacramental life of the Church to assist and encourage participants to engage in thoughtful discernment about the nature of priestly life and ministry. Contact with seminarians provides first-hand experience of the discernment and formation process.
- Communal - Encouraging participants to pray for and support each other during their period of discernment. This aspect of INSIGHT offers a rare opportunity to speak openly and on an ongoing basis about personal interest in priestly vocation in a relaxed and open atmosphere.
Format of INSIGHT
- Program for men who are serious about discerning a vocation to the priesthood.
Topics of discussion cover God's call to discipleship in the Church and the need for our generous response; life and ministry of priesthood and encounter with diocesan priests and seminarians.
- Meetings
- Two retreats -- Oct. 20-22, 2006 & Feb. 23-25, 2007
- Monthly meetings Nov. 9, 2006, Dec. 7, 2006, Jan. 18, 2007, Feb. 15, 2007, March 15, 2007
- Time and Topics - 7:00 p.m. (see Calendar of Events page for dates and topics). Each meeting concludes with communal Night Prayer, ending at 8:45 p.m.
- Location - Tihen Room at the John Paul II Center for New Evangelization - (1300 South Steele Street, Denver; on Louisiana between University and Colorado Boulevards)
Expectations of Participants
Past experience proves that those who have participated in the program on a consistent basis are able to reach a clear and joyful understanding of God's will for their lives.
Regular attendance is strongly encouraged.
